Back to R&D Partnership
For European programmes & NATO

The R&D partner Europe
already trusts with sovereign technology.

Six funded programmes across the European Space Agency, the European Defence Agency (98/100 on the CBRN counter-UAS programme), the European Commission, and the Polish federal R&D agency. Eligible for the European Defence Fund, Horizon Europe, the European Innovation Council Accelerator, NATO DIANA, the NATO Innovation Fund, SESAR 3, and direct national-defense engagements.

If you're a consortium prime building an EDF or Horizon Europe proposal, a national defense ministry evaluating SME partners, or a European defense integrator looking for the autonomy and AI specialist under your prime — this page is the diligence pack we'd normally walk you through on the second call.

European credentials — verified, not claimed

Eight signals your consortium's evaluation panel already counts. We arrive with all of them.

These are not marketing claims — they're what European evaluators (ESA, EDA, EIC, EDF panels) check first when scoring a proposal. Coming in with them already validated is what makes the technical-merit case fast and the diligence step short.

  • EDA 98/100 — CBRN programme

The European Defence Agency scored Dronehub 98 out of 100 on the CBRN counter-UAS programme. We were the first startup ever to work directly with the agency — and the bar they applied is the same bar your downstream consortium partners will apply.

  • ESA + EDA joint funding

The AUDROS programme is the first project in history where the European Space Agency and the European Defence Agency jointly supported a company from the SME sector. The kind of credential that is impossible to fake and very hard to repeat.

  • 6+ funded EU programmes

European Space Agency, European Defence Agency, European Commission (Horizon 2020), and the Polish federal R&D Centre have all funded our work — across counter-UAS, hybrid UAV-UGV, urban air mobility, medical drone logistics, mobile autonomous infrastructure, and ski-slope safety.

  • Founded 2015 · Aviation Valley

A decade of operations inside Poland's aerospace cluster — the same cluster that has supplied NATO programmes for decades. Engineering bench, supply network, and supplier relationships all native to NATO Europe.

  • Jasionka factory · online 2025

$7.5M production line in Jasionka, Poland — $2.75M funded by the Polish federal industrial-development agency. Fully online as of 2025. Sovereign EU manufacturing, audit-trail per unit.

  • Non-CN supply chain

Zero components from China, Russia, Iran, or any sanctioned state. NDAA Section 848 compatible — equally useful for EU industrial sovereignty (EDIS — European Defence Industrial Strategy) and US programme requirements. The same BOM works for both.

  • Forbes Poland · FT 1000 · DII

Forbes Poland 25 Under 25 (2020) and 30 Under 30 (2023). Forbes Ukraine 30 Under 30 (2024, panel including Valery Zaluzhny). Financial Times 1000 — #2 in Europe, Aerospace & Defense. Drone Industry Insights — global category leader, drone-in-a-box.

  • Dual-EU + US domicile

Sp. z o.o. (Polish LLC) in Poland (EU engineering + manufacturing) plus Dronehub Inc. in Delaware (US contracting). Native to both jurisdictions — the right entity for whichever contract vehicle your programme uses.

European programmes we fit

Eight European funding paths where our portfolio maps directly to the call topic.

For each programme below, our role is concrete — consortium lead, work-package lead, technical SME, or eligible SME applicant — and our fit is grounded in specific deployed systems, not generic capability claims.

  • European Defence Fund (EDF)

    European Commission · DG DEFIS
Our roleConsortium technical SME or work-package lead
Why we fitCounter-UAS, autonomous critical-infrastructure inspection, dual-use logistics, mobile autonomous infrastructure for defense — direct overlap with EDF call topics on UAS, c-UAS, ground/air integration, and resilient logistics. Our European Defence Agency track record (98/100 on CBRN) makes the evaluation case straightforward.
  • Horizon Europe

European Commission · DG R&I · EU agencies
Our roleConsortium lead, work-package lead, or technical SME
Why we fitWe have led multi-country EU consortia under the predecessor programme (Horizon 2020) — HUUVER across 5 countries, AUDROS across 3 — and co-flown with Fortune-100 primes like Honeywell on U-Space4UAM. Cluster 4 (Digital, Industry, Space) and Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy, Mobility) are direct fits.
  • EIC Accelerator

    European Innovation Council
    Our roleEligible SME applicant
Why we fitPatent-pending IP, deep tech in autonomous infrastructure, dual-use commercial + defense applications, EU+US data sovereignty, defensible production at scale. The EIC Accelerator's grant + equity instrument is built for exactly the kind of deep-tech SME we are.
  • NATO DIANA

Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic
Our roleEligible applicant — dual-use technology track
Why we fitDIANA's accelerator looks for dual-use deep-tech SMEs with civilian deployment evidence and defense-relevant transition pathways. Our Deutsche Bahn deployment proves the civilian side; AUDROS and UAV Nomad (our mobile drone-in-a-box) prove the defense side. Same stack.
  • NATO Innovation Fund (NIF)

    NATO · €1B equity fund · 23 ally signatories
    Our roleDual-use technology investee profile
Why we fitNIF was created to support exactly the kind of company we are: NATO-aligned, dual-use, sovereign supply chain, EU+US footprint, founded in a frontline ally state with a personal stake in Western security. The thesis match is structural.
  • SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking

    EU air-traffic R&D · 2022–2031
Our roleUAM / U-space technical contributor
Why we fitWe were operationally first across the entire 13-partner U-Space4UAM consortium under Horizon 2020. Co-flew with Lilium, Vertical Aerospace, and EU national air-navigation service providers. The Honeywell-led programme is the direct prequel to SESAR 3 U-space topics.
  • EU Space Programme (EUSPA)

    Galileo · Copernicus · EGNOS
    Our roleGalileo-authenticated UAV applications
Why we fitHUUVER was the first drone in the world integrated with full Galileo authentication. That makes us a natural fit for any EUSPA call asking for sovereign positioning, Copernicus-data downstream applications, or Galileo-anchored UAV operations.
  • National defense ministries

DGA (FR) · BAAINBw (DE) · DSTL (UK) · MON (PL) · Segredifesa (IT)
Our roleDirect contractor or prime sub-contractor
Why we fitEach national defense innovation pipeline has its own contract path and supplier rules. We are eligible to engage directly (especially in Poland and adjacent Central European MoDs) or as a sub under a national prime (Airbus DS, Leonardo, Thales, Saab, MBDA, Rheinmetall, KNDS, Indra, PGZ).

European technological sovereignty

Already inside the EDIS envelope — by design, not by adjustment.

The European Defence Industrial Strategy (March 2024) made sovereign EU industrial capacity a programme requirement, not a preference. Our entire engineering and supply approach has been inside that envelope since 2015 — long before EDIS made it official.

  • EDIS-aligned

The European Defence Industrial Strategy (March 2024) calls for European industrial autonomy in defense procurement. We're already inside that envelope — EU-engineered, EU-manufactured, non-CN supply chain, dual-EU+US data path.

  • Non-adversarial BOM

Zero components from China, Russia, Iran, or sanctioned states. Audit-trail per production unit. The same BOM works for EDIS, NDAA Section 848, and any other allied sovereignty requirement — engineered once, eligible everywhere.

  • EU + US data sovereignty

Imagery, telemetry, build records, detections, and audit logs stay inside EU + US infrastructure. No hyperscaler in adversarial jurisdictions, no foreign-controlled SaaS dependency in the data path. Suitable for regulated and defense-grade workloads.

  • Native to NATO Europe

Founded in 2015 inside Aviation Valley — the Polish aerospace cluster that has supplied NATO programmes for decades. The engineering bench, the funding ecosystem, and the supplier network are all natively NATO-Europe. Not relocated. Not converted.

Capabilities mapped to European calls

Six deployed systems. Six European-relevant answers.

Each block below is a real, funded, deployed system from our portfolio — paired with the European call topic and threat landscape it maps to. When an evaluator asks “has anyone built this and made it work?”, every answer here is yes.

  • AI infrastructure inspection at national scale

In-house AI anomaly detection (the Halo Cloud platform) plus autonomous drone-in-a-box hardware. Per-fastener accuracy above 95%, sub-15-minute reports, 24/7 availability by design. Proven on Germany's 33,000-km Deutsche Bahn rail network.

EU mappingEuropean critical infrastructure: rail, energy transmission, pipelines, water, ports. National-defense applications: border surveillance, perimeter protection, logistics-corridor sweep, dual-use under EDIS.
  • Counter-UAS interception

Eagle One net-capture drone — physically intercepts hostile UAVs in flight. Tested with the Military Technical Institute of the Czech Republic (NATO member). The first-ever joint European Space Agency + European Defence Agency programme with an SME (AUDROS). Scored 98/100 by EDA on the CBRN counter-UAS programme.

EU mappingBase defense, FOB protection, critical-infrastructure airspace policing, public-safety c-UAS (stadium, summit, head-of-state visit). Direct EDF and PESCO (Permanent Structured Cooperation — the EU's intergovernmental defense-collaboration framework) topic fit.
  • Autonomous battery swap in motion

UAV Nomad — our mobile drone-in-a-box. A ground vehicle (or any platform) that autonomously docks with airborne drones and swaps batteries at 30 km/h. Closes the persistent-air-cover gap for moving assets. $1.72M Polish federal R&D Centre programme (Mobile Charging Station).

EU mappingConvoy overwatch. Mobile command. Logistics-corridor protection. Disaster-response sustained air cover. Any operation where the asset moves faster than the drone can recharge at a fixed dock.
  • Hybrid UAV-UGV — flies and drives

HUUVER — the first hybrid drone that both flies and operates as a ground vehicle. First drone in the world integrated with full Galileo authentication. Led a 7-partner consortium across 5 EU countries. €1.5M+ programme (~$1.75M total).

EU mappingSearch & rescue in denied environments. Subterranean ISR (tunnels, structures, underground utilities). Hard-terrain logistics where wheeled platforms get stuck and rotary platforms run out of fuel. EUSPA Galileo-application calls.
  • Drone-based medical and cargo logistics

Airvein — end-to-end autonomous network for medical cargo (blood, samples, organs). Hangar grid every 10–15 km, 24/7 all-weather operation. $1.24M Polish federal R&D Centre programme.

EU mappingEU public-health logistics. Casualty evacuation and forward sustainment for defense. Last-mile defense logistics in contested environments where ground convoys are exposed. Cross-border medical drone corridors (Horizon Europe Cluster 1).
  • Drone-in-a-box autonomous infrastructure

Stationary docking, autonomous launch, robotic battery swap inside the dock (2 minutes vs the 40–60 of competing systems). Edge + cloud compute split. The hardware platform behind the Deutsche Bahn deployment.

EU mappingFixed-site perimeter — sovereign borders, ports, airfields, defense installations. Pipeline and rail corridor sweep. Persistent surveillance for critical-infrastructure operators across the EU.

How we engage

Three roles we step into across European programmes.

Pick the structure that matches your programme's rules of participation. We've already operated under each — pick the one that fits, we'll handle the paperwork.

Consortium lead

We assemble and coordinate a multi-country consortium around a specific call topic. We've led HUUVER (7 partners, 5 countries) and AUDROS (3 countries) — operational consortium leadership, not just nominal. Useful when the call topic centres on autonomy, c-UAS, or sovereign UAV infrastructure.

EDF · Horizon Europe · SESAR 3 · Eureka clusters

Work-package lead or technical SME

Under a larger prime or a national lab. We bring the autonomy stack, the AI, the airframe IP, the manufacturing path. Useful when your consortium needs the unmanned-systems and AI work-package filled by a partner who has already shipped that work in a public programme.

Airbus DS · Leonardo · Thales · Saab · MBDA · Hensoldt · Indra · PGZ · Honeywell EU

Joint-development MoU

Technology partnership without a formal sub-prime structure. We assign joint IP, contribute the engineering team, and deliver against jointly-defined milestones. Useful for national MoDs, research labs, university-led calls, and bilateral programmes (Eureka, IPCEI-adjacent work).

DGA · BAAINBw · DSTL · MON · National defense innovation hubs · University primes

European pedigree, in one paragraph

A decade inside the most rigorous evaluation pipelines in Europe.

Dronehub was founded in 2015 from a university pre-incubator in Aviation Valley, Rzeszow — Poland's aerospace cluster. In 2017 the European Space Agency issued a Request for Information to roughly fifty European drone companies looking for an autonomous drone hub partner. Only one company responded — Dronehub. The resulting contract pivoted the company from services consulting to a product identity.

What followed was a decade of public R&D under the most rigorous evaluators in Europe. The European Space Agency Business Applications programme funded SIS-SREM (ski-slope safety, deployed at Dolni Morava, Czech Republic). The European Space Agency and the European Defence Agency jointly funded AUDROS — the first time in history the two agencies co-funded an SME, scored 98/100 on the CBRN counter-UAS programme. The European Union Agency for the Space Programme funded HUUVER, the first drone in the world to integrate full Galileo authentication. The European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme funded U-Space4UAM under the SESAR Joint Undertaking, where we flew first across a 13-partner consortium alongside Honeywell, Lilium, and Vertical Aerospace.

In parallel, the Polish federal R&D Centre funded Airvein (medical drone logistics) and UAV Nomad — our mobile drone-in-a-box, originally the Mobile Charging Station programme (the world's first autonomous battery swap in motion). The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development funded the $7.5M Jasionka production line — now fully online as of 2025. The Deutsche Bahn deployment proved the AI stack at national scale on Germany's 33,000-km rail network.

Every one of those programmes left behind public funding records, named consortium partners, deployed reference sites, and citable evaluation scores. That's why European evaluators recognize the name. That's why your proposal evaluation goes faster with us in it.

Honest paperwork status

What we already have and what we're actively working on.

European evaluators are precise — overclaim destroys a proposal faster than under-claiming. Below is the exact status of the compliance and qualification paperwork. The kind of disclosure your consortium coordinator will appreciate before submission.

  • What we already have

Six funded EU/national programmes with named consortium partners and deployed reference sites · European Defence Agency 98/100 on CBRN · ESA + EDA joint-funding precedent · Polish industrial-development grant validated under federal technical review · non-CN supply chain · EU+US data sovereignty · Galileo-authenticated UAV experience · operational EU manufacturing at Jasionka · dual-domicile (Sp. z o.o. + Delaware C-Corp).

  • What we're actively engaging

Horizon Europe consortium proposals (Cluster 4 + Cluster 5 fits). European Defence Fund consortium discussions on c-UAS and dual-use autonomous infrastructure.
